It was in the summer of 2015 following the birth of our daughter Gwen that I started to research the market for a running buggy. Continuing the research at the beginning of 2016 and after relentless hours of searching the web and getting more confused on which model would be the most suitable, I then become very frustrated that none of the major retailers kept running buggies in-store that I could view, let alone try out. I therefore started to develop the idea of setting up a website and showroom to allow mums and dads the ability to compare running buggies and try them out before making a decision.
In April 2016 I setup www.buggyrunning.co.uk and have since opened a showroom in Woolwich, South East London where you can view and try out our current collection of running buggies. The showroom is on an appointment only basis so please email to arrange a time to visit.
After finding it difficult to enter races with a buggy, I started to develop the idea of Buggy Running Events whilst on one of my runs with Gwen. The concept was to bring buggy running to anybody regardless if they wanted to walk, jog or run and to meet like-minded people who also love the outdoors.
Following discussions with the Forestry Commission, who already have family friendly sites and were also extremely supportive, Buggy Running Events was born and we hope to increase the number of events in 2019 so watch this space...
Buggy Running Events is a brand new concept developed by Mark Ford, a competitive runner and father of an energetic daughter.
